HE is one of the biggest Beatles fans around – bar myself – so you can imagine Noel Gallagher’s glee when he was asked to perform on stage with Paul McCartney.

The former Oasis rocker has revealed he performed two duets with the Liverpudlian music legend at a party for his daughter Stella’s 50th.

I told you the details of the fashion designer’s star-studded bash at Cliveden House Hotel in Buckinghamshire last week, and now Noel has lifted the lid on playing with his idol.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Star hitmaker explained: “I ended up on stage with the great Paul McCartney playing the song Birthday and then segued into I Saw Her Standing There.

“It wasn’t like I was there and they pulled me out of the crowd like a surprise. I was asked a couple of weeks up front.

“I performed, I did some of my stuff, and then someone said, ‘We’ll get you up on stage with my dad.’ And I said, ‘F***ing yes!’

“It was quite the night and, as you can imagine, for a chap like me it was quite the moment.”

Other guests at the bash included Sir Elton John and Paul’s Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr.

Noel was left disappointed that the drummer didn’t join him and Paul on stage for a jam.

He said on comedian Matt Morgan’s Funny How? podcast: “I performed with the bass player while the drummer watched.

“The only one thing that could have made it better would be that the other remaining Beatle was playing drums, but he wasn’t.

“It wasn’t my party. I was only a guest so I can’t say, ‘I’ll only do it if Ringo does it. I’m either playing with both of you, or I’m playing with none of you.’ It was a good night, though.”

You aren’t kidding, Noel.

Last I was told the party was still going on at 8am the next day.

Then again, what else do you expect with one of the Gallagher brothers at your birthday?

Nile had a ride laugh after gig

NILE Rodgers proved he is just a big kid at heart by getting his own funfair and roller disco to celebrate turning 69.

The Chic legend, along with his band and road crew, enjoyed a selection of classic theme park rides backstage after he headlined a show at Alexandra Head in Cardiff on Sunday.

During the show, Nile was serenaded by thousands of people in the crowd throughout his set.

Sharing a clip of the moment online, he wrote: “Thank you, Cardiff. I was blown away with the love and the amount of times you sang Happy Birthday to me. It was truly a special night.”

He returned to London that evening and his team decided to throw a surprise roller disco party for their boss at the Ministry of Sound nightclub.

Nile revealed on Instagram he thought he was being taken to a business meeting.

A source said: “Having not been able to play live for so long, Nile has been having a blast performing again and his team have been blown away by his spirit.

“They really pulled out all the stops for his birthday and had a whole funfair for him in Cardiff then a roller disco when he got back to London.

“Mistajam came and DJ’d at the party and everyone got to skate around to his favourite disco songs. It was a night to remember.

“Not many 69 year olds can party as hard as Nile.”

The guitarist and producer, who is on tour across the UK, plays Edinburgh tonight with further shows this week in Birmingham and Newcastle.

Tickets are available at livenation.co.uk.

I hope he got a good sleep after all that birthday excitement so he is on top form when he hops back on stage.

Megan stays tight hipped

MEGAN Thee Stallion will end up with saddle sore wearing leather-look hot pants this tight.

The Girls In The Hood singer sent the crowds wild during the Atlanta Music Midtown festival in the US.

Megan wore her tiny blue shorts with fishnet tights and a peach coloured crop top with the words “Hot Girl” emblazoned on the front.

Last week Megan wowed the crowds at Manchester’s Park Life and Wireless Festival in London and is now back in the States preparing for the release of her second album – ten months after the release of her debut record Good News.

Megan said her new album would be “aggressive”, before telling fans she would be going back to her roots.

She said: “This project is me talking my s**t, getting back comfortable with myself, getting back to the Megan that was on the come-up.”

Asa puts fans in picture

IF you bump into Asa Butterfield on a night out it’s probably best not to take a picture without his permission.

The actor, who plays Otis Milburn in Netflix smash hit Sex Education, unleashed his wrath on Twitter after saying a night out had been ruined by fans filming him.

Asa fumed: “I’m so tired of people filming me/taking pics without asking while I’m on a night out.

“It actually kills my mood and my night, f**k off, leave me be please.”

He also shared on the social media platform: “Tweeting this from a cab home after I’ve had to slap multiple phones out my face tonight.”

It sounds to me like someone is trying to give Naomi Campbell circa 2010 a run for their money…

Asa also took a pop at someone who told him it was part and parcel of being the star of a big show.

He replied: “Wow, I had no idea, thank you for enlightening me.”

Ouch.

Gem’s a cape able baddie

SHE’S made no secret of her desire to start a career in gardening.

But Gemma Collins was more Alan Twit-Marsh than Titchmarsh when she rocked up to the Chelsea Flower Show dressed like a Disney villain yesterday.

Gemma posted on Insta: ‘Happiest amongst the plants. What a beautiful day, everyone should make the time to come and visit’[/caption]

I adore The GC, but this gem-encrusted yellow cape and pink dress – with Edwardian-style ruff – should go to back to panto lost property.

Gem was photographed knocking back something bubbly as she wandered through the displays at the annual garden festival, rubbing shoulders with other celebs including Nick Grimshaw and Alexandra Burke.

She shared the look on Instagram and told her 2.2million followers: “Happiest amongst the plants. What a beautiful day, everyone should make the time to come and visit.”

Her fellow guests probably need a second visit to see the flowers now – I bet they couldn’t take their eyes off her.

Bimini’s Yung bud

Drag Race’s Bimini Bon Boulash is lining up a very starry collaboration.

The drag queen, who found fame on the second series of RuPaul’s hit BBC show in the UK, is working on a collaboration with Yungblud.

Pals said that after being introduced earlier this year the pair have become firm pals and are now trying to line up dates to get into the studio.

A source said: “Bimini and Yungblud have become close mates since they started talking earlier this year.

“And since then Bimini has made no secret of how much they would like to work on music with Yungblud.

“They’re both incredibly busy but in recent weeks they’ve been trying to line up their diaries.

“Yungblud is a huge fan of Bimini and has said he would love to work on a collaboration with them.

“The dream would be to get into the studio in the next few months and start writing together before getting a track recorded before the end of the year.”

The move comes three months after Bimini released debut single God Save This Queen

Yungblud is certainly a busy boy – with two new records coming out and an American tour in the New Year.

Not bad for a lad from Doncaster.

He was in the US over the weekend and said: “Two new albums are coming like babies, called Midwives, and I’m touring across America in January.

“It’s not announced yet, but I’m just telling everyone tonight because I’ve had a couple of beers.”

I’ll raise a toast to your success, mate.

Sherlock solution

AFTER watching the pandemic decimate live music, here’s a cause I can really get behind . . .

Indie group The Sherlocks are embarking on a Keep Our Independent Venues Alive tour from October 1, playing gigs at smaller venues to give them a boost.

Frontman Kiaran Crook said: “Everyone’s been struggling and if you’re in a band you are pretty much one of the last people to get back doing your job, so we’ve sort of been screwed.

“But for us it was about taking a step back and realising it’s not just the bands that are out of work, it’s easy to forget that it’s the venue that are stuck as well.

“We want to try to generate a bit of money for these venues and raise a bit of awareness.”

The band are also offering the support slots at each gig to local independent acts.

The Sherlocks are releasing new album World I Understand on November 19 and will treat fans at the new music at the shows.

Kiaran added: “This time around it’s been a lot of fun. I can’t wait to get back in the studio and do more.”
